I missed my birthday blog
My blog is over 1 year old and I completely missed it. Anyway it since a lot longer since i started writing. Anyway new stock will be uploaded in the next couple of days. I did a complete stock check the other day (8 hours of not stop fun) and have found a few old favourites to add to website as well as a box of bits that has never actually been put up for sale.
And in other news the postal strike is over so expect deliveries to arrive nice and quickly.

Industrial Action.
Well the postal strike is off (for a few days anyway). Whilst the strikes continue to be rolling we will still do our upmost to ensure your deliveries arrive quickly. We are currently looking into different methods of postage including carrier pigeons, fedex etc.
I can understand the postmans point if they are being treated unfairly. Since the Royal Mail is now a privately run company yet government owned it's crazy when you realise just what a strangle hold they have on the whole delivery service and the vast impact it has when things go wrong.
Anyway in baby releated news... Expect some new products up in the coming weeks as well as the return of some favourite sellers. The sale ends tomorrow evening so get those orders in.

My mum was telling me today how rubbish my blog was and she is right. I really need to start blogging much more. I must admit that running this website is not my full time job and in the last week I have actually been picking grapes (seriously). Going, going, gone.....
Thomas and I spent a large part of today packing up the shop ready for its move, we made a big mess, looked at it for a while and then decided to tackle it another day! Please excuse us at this time if it is all a little disorganised! We are in the process of setting up a new contact number and system to take telephone orders (for those of you who are a little averse to using Paypal), but in the mean time we ALWAYS answer our e-mail (Contact Us) and check for messages frequently.

I have spent ALL DAY! updating the website and I still haven't finished. :( New on; beautiful high quality toddler dressing up oufits, personalised t-shirts (and some rather funky other t-shirts as well!). Rain rain go away...
It's another gloomy day in Sandgate. Postal prices have risen again recently, but don't worry we are keeping ours the same at a flat rate of £3.95 or free for orders over £50. International shipping will be £10 flat rate.
In other news we will be closing our physical store in Sandgate at the end of June to concentrate more heavily on the website. We hope to provide you with more brands, a bigger selection of products and if possible, even better customer service. On that note I am currently job hunting, I hope to set up my own business in the near future as well as continue to help Anna out with Livvy & Me. I expect that Anna will be taking up the blogging in the near future as she finishes working at her current school soon.

EARTHQUAKE !!!
Well today was pretty scary. We had a huge earthquake this morning, something we don't normally get round here but it woke me up pretty quickly. We have just had a small re-stock of various Swaddling blankets that i will be putting up in the nest couple of days including the green dots (the same one baby apple has)
I hope there are no after shocks my nerves just can't take it.

We have just had a re-stock of Alimrose design from Australia. More of the range is now in. There are very few U.K shops supplying this brand from Australia and were one of them. Get it quick as the last lot sold out within a short space of time.
The weather is starting to get really nice now that makes my walks to work (via the post office) much better. I hope your enjoying the weather. All the best

Going Going....
The D'arcy Brown collection is selling FAST so if there is something that you are after don't delay. We have purchased the collection so its easy to mix and match clothing. I can't stress the quality of these outfits the photos really do the clothing no justice. In other news I have just got back from a trip to Exeter visiting one of my uni friends. A lot of people ask me why a 24 year old man is working in a Baby shop and for that matter writing a Baby Blog. Well as most of you know it's my sisters Anna's shop and her daughter is Livvy (Olivia). Well firstly I guess i kind of fell into it after Uni as something to do and worringly now I actually seem to know too much about babies and baby products for my own good.
Anyway i hope your little ones are enjoying the Spring weather as I am.

It's been a while.
I have FINALLY got around to putting our D'arcy brown collection online! D'arcy Brown make clothes for parents who want their children to look like children. I for one could't agree more. When I think how fast Olivia's 5 years have gone by I wish i'd spent more time dressing her like she should have been dressed, and not so much like a mini-me! Our collection starts at 3 months and finishes at age 3. We have very small quantities of each item, so if there's something you like please order sooner rather than later, we really cannot order any more of these items (we've already ordered our winter collection!!) The clothes are very well made and are lovely and thick, so you could easily get away with them in this weather. Go to the Baby Boy's/Girl's clothes section to see what we have.

Arghhhhh
I'm having one of those days. You know when all you want to do is go back to bed, and to make it worse Anna is ill at the moment. The sale is in full swing with some lines selling out fast so don't wait. It looks like we will be doing a large re-stock and buying spree again soon. You may have read before about the D'arcy Brown collection we have in the shop. I will get round to putting it online we are just waiting for product images. I hope you and your little ones are all well (when i say little ones it makes me think of Hobbits for some reason). I'm off again this weekend Dj'ing and performing at an Alice in Wonderland party. Blog Blog Blogging
It was cold today in the shop. Me and Anna spend the day sorting out our second delivery of D'arcy Brown. More boys clothes in stock and a few more bits for the girls. There is still a few more bits to arrive yet but it should not be too long. The Anne-Claire Petit order is selling first so don't sleep on it (my favourite is the fox). I have just put in an order with Storksak, the bags are in the changing and feeding section and if you order now will go out as soon as they arrive. Also we have a new line in by a Storksak sister company called Baby Mel, again these are really nice bags.
Well I hope spring will be here soon. As for me I'm off this weekend to the Bloc festival.

Just arrived instore our largest Organics For Kids order yet. Including new T shirts and knicker sets as well as T shirts, bandanna bibs and sun hats to protect the little heads. I have been given a warning that my blogs have become a bit boring recently so i will try my best to make them a little more entertaining.
If you live locally make sure you try and pop down to Sandgate to see us. The weather has been really nice recently and if i'm not it the shop I am normally parked up on the beach looking for Dave the Dolphin, our local Dolphin.

I'm so glad its March
O.K me like most people hate the second month of the year. The weather is always rubbish and you never have any money after Christmas then sales shopping. Well I am so glad it is over and it's a new month. Sorry I have not blogged in a while but I have been knee deep in other projects. So what is going on at Livvy & Me? Well firstly we are expecting our massive D'arcy Brown order in the next few weeks. Secondly we are also expecting a massive Anne-claire-petit order and finally there are some other bits and bobs coming what I shall reveal at a later date.
Anna has been busy too. As well as teaching (thats her day job) she has been busy making a line of fashinable bibs for cool kids (we have been wearing them around the house, pictures to follow). Keep checking back as hopefully we will have a few for sale some time soon.

Yah hah tiddly dee, being a pirate is alright by me, if you like to sail the sea, you are a pirate!
Just in from the land down under are some great toys and bibs from Alimrose. They are really well made and they look great too. I will be putting them up on the site a.s.a.p or if you are in the area get down to the shop tomorrow or Saturday. I'm off to London for the weekend so Anna will be in the shop. I'm sad because my favourite record shop in Soho is closing down.

I'm starting to run out of puns for my blog titles.
Just arrived onto the web store are some new swaddling blankets. These are really big 42" x 42" and made from some magical super soft cotton. There are also new Baby Lovie comforters that I can't even begin to describe the texture of; well here's my attempt (imagine the softest thing you have ever touched and multiply it by ten). I have also been hunting across the web for images of celebrity babies wearing products we stock. So far I have found loads of celebs babies rocking the Trumpette socks including Brooke shields with her daughter Grier wearing the pixies and Gren Steffani with her son Kingston wearing the critters.

The Martians are landing!
Just arrived on the web store all the way from Mars (Australia) is Bella. You can find her and her other beastie friends in the toy section. There is also some new clothing in from Australia, including a matching Bella hoody for the boys. I know Anna is always telling me off for writing "I wish they made these in my size", but I really wish they did, (available in store from Thursday).

Employee of the month.
Yes, that's right. I have won the prestigious Livvy & Me employee of the month. I guess it's all the hard blogging I did in January. As for a prize, Anna had got me a lovely piece of custom art work to be displayed in the shop. It's like the one below but with my name on it. I'm so lazy
We have just taken delivery of a re-stock of some lovely Lazy Baby T shirts and hooded tops. These are 100% Organic and even the ink used is Organic. I know the whole Organic thing may not be everyone's cup of Tea, but I was told yesterday that over 300 people a year die in factories from fumes from the inks of clothing dye. Now I'm not scare mongering but would you really want a chemical product that does that near your baby. Check out the range there are some great funky designs and the hooded tops look lovely and warm on a day like today.

Glitz and glamour
It's a Tuesday morning and I'm huddling next to the heater in the shop trying to keep warm, roll on the summer. I hope anyone reading this likes the new look of the site. I have just taken delivery of some new Trumpette socks so head over to the Baby Accessories section to check them out. Also we have had a re-stock of the great This little piggy went to Prada. Both me and Anna were in the shop today. It was funny how everytime I went to make a cup of tea I came back to find Anna making more orders from various companies. I will update the blog as the new stock begins to arrive. Also get ready for some web site changes.

Well yesterday saw the first of our Trade fair visits for 2007. My objective was to make sure Anna did not over spend. My mission was a failure. However that's good news for you. After Anna's huge spending spree and a little quick math's on my part I have calculated that in the next month or so we will be getting over 300 + new items of stock in the shop, including blankets, toys, clothing, gifts etc. Yesterday I had finally the chance to meet many of our suppliers who I have been e-mailing and talking to on the phone so that was a real pleasure for me. We also chose our 2007 Winter line from one company after Anna chose our Spring / Summer line last September. I can say without a doubt that this brand we will be stocking has to be the best produced collection of baby wear I have ever seen. The quality is second to none. We shall be taking delivery of this brand mid February in time for the opening of the new expansion of the shop.
Yet again we will be getting brands in from Australia as well as others based in this country. Anyway I better get back to the glorious task of a stock check before Anna catches me blogging.

I'm back
After having a lot of fun on my jolly I have returned to the baby shop world refreshed and ready to go. I have mentioned before about plans for the shop, well in the next month or so we are going to be expanding the size of the shop. This means, firstly you have more room to shop in, and secondly there is going to be a greater choice of gifts and clothing. Over the next month Anna and I are going to be attending trade shows and choosing our Spring / Summer range. The first of our big new orders should be with us in a couple of weeks. We are also looking at getting new brands in store from as far as Australia so keep checking the blog for updates. I'm sure when we open the new expansion we will have a small celebration party for blog readers and regulars. Some of the new brands we will be getting are very exclusive. To give you an idea of how exclusive for one brand we had to choose the Spring Summer line last September and next week we have to choose the Autumn Winter line.
Anyway I have just added the new hooded top day suits by Organic for Kids in the baby section. These are extremely well made and great value for money. 100% Organic cotton. there are also matching hats in blue and pink stripe. Anyway we run this shop for you, if there is anything in particular you would like to see us stock please let us know and we will take a look.

Thomas has gone on a jolly to London, so i've been manning the business for the last few days. I'm taking this opportunity to tell you that we have a lot of new brands coming in over the next few weeks, we'll also start taking delivery of some Spring/Summer items(!) so if you've had enough of the gloomy weather check back soon. I have just finished taking some new pictures of the shop for the about us section. It's amazing the comparison to the pictures in the first blog. We have only been in the shop in Sandgate High Street since opening here on the 27th of September. Since then we have doubled the stock we carry and that is set to increase more in the New Year.
Don't forget, this Friday 6-8 our late night shopping and the start of our sale.

O.K so she can blog
Well she can blog, but not very well. I hope everyone who is reading this is well and also your little ones. We have just taken stock of some Christmas items ready for our informal Christmas shopping day tomorrow and our late night shopping a week on Friday. Pop down to the shop for a chat, cup of tea or a mince pie. What's even more exciting is that even Anna is supposed to be in the shop tomorrow what is like seeing a blue moon or something equally as rare, although i have to say i did find a Christmas Cd in my laptop the other day so be aware of Anna's music taste.

Ha-ha! I can blog too!!
Thomas has said that i don't do enough of the nitty-gritty when it comes to my business, so just to prove him otherwise, here is my first blog! We have had some absolutely lovely comments from our customers over our first 2 months in business, and i'm glad that so many of you seem to love what we do. In response to our most asked question... we will be getting more Anne-Claire Petit products after christmas, and we are looking to expand our range, so please take another look in January. On that note i can't believe that we still have some Bambi's left!! They really are (in my opinion!) the most adorable of the crochet animals, just the right size for your little ones to squish under their chubby arms! and after what happened to poor Bambi's mother i think that he deserves a good home.......

To blog or not to blog? That is the question.
Just received the last part of our order of mittens and hats. I will put the rest of them up in the next couple of days. I have also meant to update our store photos in the about us section. If you look down this page you will see that i put them in my first blog. It's amazing how empty the shop looked when we first opened, but with Anna's talent in spending, our stock profile keeps growing. Big things are coming in the stock department and with the shop. All I can say at the moment is wait and see.
Don't forget the 15th is our late night shopping. We will be open until 8.30 so leave the children at home and come and enjoy a stress free night out shopping (made more stress free with mulled wine and mince pies).
Finally our last Christmas posting date will be the 20th of December. We can post up to the 22nd but it will have to go Special Delivery with a small charge so please don't leave it that late.

The goose is getting fat
Well you know what is creeping up on us. I have not done any shopping yet. If you visit our store you will see that we are slowly starting to get a bit more festive. We have just taken delivery of some decorations from our friends at the Balloon store. So make sure if you're local you take some time to pop into the shop.

Getting mobile
New stock in. We now have in the Nursery and children's room section a collection of Mobiles straight from Denmark. They are made by a company called Flensted. I have just put them up in the shop and i'm sure they are going to keep me amused for hours staring at them. They are beautifully balanced so they really float on air.

Date for the diary
We are going to have a late night opening in December on the 15th, so come along to the shop in Sandgate. We will be open until 8.30 and there will be free mince pies and mulled wine for all (but hopefully no Christmas music they seem to be blasting out everywhere). Lottis the brilliant underwear shop will be open late the same night so make sure to leave the children at home and come and enjoy a stress free Christmas shopping experience.

Being lazy
Head over to the baby clothes section now to see out latest arrivals from Lazy baby. These are nice long sleeved tops with seriously cool graphics. Ideal for the baby that's just too cool for school. They are 100% Organic and also fair trade goods so by buying them you are doing your good deed for the day. I will also be adding some new mittens gloves and hats later this week. They are extremely high quality and hand knitted.

Pulp fiction?
Ahoy. New stock has arrived this time its in rabbit form, Mr. Pink and Mr. Blue. Made and produced locally by Me and mum. The brains behind it all is Susanna who is a fashion graduate with a huge vintage fabric collection. Inspired by the birth of her first nephew she decided to put her fabric collection to good use. She does the sewing and her mum does the stuffing. A true family business like ours. These items are truly unique and will be greatly appreciated on Christmas morning.

Gelgem crazy
You may have noticed in our other things we love section we have Gelgems for sale. If you did not know what these are they stick to the window and give a stained glass effect. Hello and welcome to the first Livvy & Me blog.
My name is Thomas and together with my sister Anna we run and own Livvy & Me. My aim of the blog is to let people know what is going on in store and to notify you of the arrival of new products and special offers.
