Environmentally Friendly Baby Gifts
Here at Livvy & Me we try to be as aware of the environment as possible. In order to help our customers do the same, whilst still being able to give stylish baby gifts, we are proud to stock Organics for Kids baby clothes and Plan Toys.
Organics for Kids
All Organics for Kids garments are made from certified organic cotton and, where possible, certified Fairtrade cotton. The dyes used are not organic themselves but meet the Oeko-tex 100 standard, which protects against harmful substances. They are also covered by organic inspection processes.
The clothes are manufactured in England, with the aim of supporting our local textiles sector, and in India. A small part of the collection is manufactured by a Fairtrade Foundation approved factory in India. The factory grows its own cotton, some of which is also certified by the Fairtrade Foundation. Whilst supporting the efforts of the Fairtrade Foundation in developing countries, Organics for Kids are also passionate about supporting the UK textile sector and workers, and have a commitment to manufacturing the majority of their range in the UK.
Plan Toys
All PlanToys are made with clean, natural rubberwood from rubber trees which no longer produce latex. To keep the rubberwood pure, no fertilizer is added to the soil for three years before the trees are cut. To strengthen the wood, PlanToys uses a special chemical-free kiln drying process.
Toys are assembled using a proprietary, non-formaldehyde glue and are decorated using safe, non-toxic water-based dyes on all of our toys. PlanToys also uses recycled and recyclable material to minimize their impact on the environment.
